According to a recently published study, responses generated by ChatGPT in therapeutic scenarios were often rated higher than those given by real therapists.

Participants found it difficult to distinguish between AI and human-written responses, and ChatGPT's answers were longer and more detailed, which may have contributed to their higher ratings.
We asked the same ChatGPT what it thinks about this personally; here is the quote:
"In my opinion, as an AI representative, artificial intelligence can be a useful tool in the field of mental health support by providing information, offering self-help strategies, and assisting therapists."
"However, AI is not capable of creating the emotional connection necessary for effective therapy. In other words, we cannot replace human therapists because we cannot provide the appropriate emotional bond and deep empathy required for effective therapy."
We also asked the neural network to define and formulate the "Three Fundamental Principles of Mental Health According to AI."
Here they are:
Talk about your feelings: Share your thoughts and emotions with trusted individuals.
Take care of your body: Engage in regular physical activity, eat healthily, and ensure adequate sleep.
Don’t forget about humor: Laughter is the best medicine, so don’t be afraid to find humor even in the most difficult situations.
